Caroline is a very experienced specialist childcare solicitor advocate who represents children, parents and family members in proceedings at all levels of court, in care proceedings, emergency protections applications, deprivation of liberty and wardship applications, adoption, special guardianship and complex private law proceedings.
Caroline is often asked to represent older children directly. She deals mainly with complex proceedings including physical and sexual abuse, emotional harm, factitious and induced illness, neglect and non-accidental injury.
Caroline is a long -term member, former chair and lifetime vice president of the Association of Lawyers for Children and was active for many years in the Family Justice Council. She has organised training for fellow professionals and experts, particularly on children’s participation in the court process.

Representing children in the High Court whose mother had been murdered in their presence. Application reported at [2020] EWHC 3884 (Fam).
• Representing a 16 year old autistic young person subject to Deprivation of Liberty Orders. Advocating for resources for her care and her participation in the court process.
