Hanne and Co raised funds for both the Legal Walk charities and the Katherine Lowe Settlement (KLS), our chosen charity for 2019/20 and we were joined on our walk by Richard Falkus from KLS.
KLS deliver services to the community’s most vulnerable, such as lunch clubs for the elderly and mentoring for young refugees. KLS also work cohesively with other local charities to support them in addressing the community’s needs, as well as campaigning to tackle issues such as homelessness caused by the universal credit scheme.
Hanne & Co also raised funds for free legal advice charities in London and the South East. In a time where legal aid has seen severe budget cuts (with more likely to come), free legal advice charities are being stretched to their limit.
The walk consisted of 10K along the River Thames, past the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament before meeting back at Carey Street near the Royal Courts of Justice.
