David is an experienced employment solicitor. He also advises on company and commercial matters. He attended the University of Kent and the University of Cambridge before joining Hanne & Co in 1988. He qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and was a Partner in the firm from 1998-2020.
David advises clients on a variety of matters. These include partnership/commercial disputes and commercial litigation, company formations, acquisitions and disposals. David is also a specialist in employment matters including discrimination cases as well as regulatory and disciplinary matters including cases before the Nursing & Midwifery Council and the Solicitors Regulation Authority including the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal.
His clients vary from individuals and small local business to large companies and organisations. He has also undertaken work for the Central London Mosque, national and international companies.
David is also a Notary Public and deals with company and personal documents going to another jurisdiction.

Corporate & Commercial
David has advised on company acquisitions and mergers, on company formations including shareholders’ agreements, and on contractual disputes. He has a particular interest in partnerships both forming and dissolving them. He advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters and has a Higher Courts (Civil Advocacy) qualification. He is therefore able to represent his clients in Court if required.
Employment and Regulatory
In his employment work, David advises both employers and employees regarding employment law (including TUPE issues). He represents both employers and employees at the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeal Tribunal. His work for employees is sometimes undertaken on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis.
As an employment practitioner, David regularly deals with cases involving diversity and discrimination. He has advised clients who have faced discrimination on the basis of sex, race, disability, age and sexual orientation.
David’s regulatory law practice has included representing nurses at the Nursing & Midwifery Council and solicitors before the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. David was for eight years a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales Audit Registration Committee. He is the Law Society Council member for South London and has been the Chair of the Membership Board of the Society and is presently a member of the Regulatory Affairs Board.
In addition to the above, David is also an accredited mediator.
