Will Aid is a scheme which is designed to raise vital funds for nine highly respected charities. The charities include NSPCC, Actionaid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Help the aged, Save the Children UK, SCIAF, Sightsavers International and Trocaire.
As a local London law firm, Hanne & Co has participated in the scheme since it began. Since its launch in 1988, Will Aid has raised more than £8 million in donations and much more in legacies. The last campaign in 2009 raised over £1.25 million in donations. The money raised is shared by the Will Aid charities and is used to transform the lives of people in the UK and around the world.
Local solicitors participating in the campaign draw up a basic will free of charge. In return, they hope the clients will donate to the Will Aid charities the fee they normally charge or what the client can afford. The client receives an affordable Will and the opportunity to assist vulnerable people in the UK and throughout the World.
Each November Clients are given the opportunity to make appointments with the Private Client Department at Hanne & Co under the scheme to assist with making a Will.
The Private Client department hope that the scheme will encourage people to make a Will. Making a Will is essential, and can ensure that your family are not left to deal with the added complications that can strike an estate where there is no Will. Writing a Will is the only way of ensuring that your family and loved ones inherit as you intend and your estate does not fall into the rules of intestacy.
Hanne & Co would like to thank each and every client who participated in the Will Aid scheme this year and we hope to assist you with any legal requirements over the coming months.
