On Wednesday evening five of Hanne & Co’s finest brains took on the best of the borough in Age UK Wandsworth’s annual pub quiz, held in the Brewers Inn opposite the town hall.
Sophia Raja (Family Law department), Patrick Jeynes (Wills & Probate department), Johnnie Hamilton, Jenny Douglas and Tim McLeish (Conveyancing department)- going under the team name of Hanne Quiztian Anderson – held their own against some strong opposition and finished in the top five teams. The Hanne team drew on all their mental resources as they tackled fiendishly difficult questions in rounds as varied as ‘Eurovision’, ‘etymology’, ‘money’, and ‘West End shows’. The team’s proudest moment, however, was showing off their knowledge during the ‘cocktails’ round, scoring 9.5 out of 10!
The event was organised and hosted by Age UK Wandsworth’s Hicky Kingsbury. The quizmaster managed to pack in more than a hundred questions without letting the pace drop for a moment. There was a great atmosphere and fun was had by all.
Before announcing the results, the quizmaster gave a short talk on the work that Age UK Wandsworth carry out in the local area and thanked Hanne & Co for selecting it as our Charity of the Year 2016-17.
