On Tuesday 16th October 2012, Hanne & Co Solicitors, Battersea’s leading law firm hosted a charity auction which raised a fantastic £2,636.87 for The Back Up Trust, an amazing local charity that works with people who have suffered spinal cord injuries. A number of Solicitors, Barristers, local businesses and representatives from neighbouring charities attended the event held at The Bank, 31-37 Northcote Road, Clapham Junction to show their support for a brilliant cause.
Each day three people in the UK will have an accident leading to spinal cord injury. The Trust helps people of all ages and backgrounds to rebuild their confidence and independence so that they can get ‘back up’ to a place they were at before their accident. The charity’s main activities include running wheelchair skills training, mentoring service and rehabilitative activity courses across the country, all of which are led by people who have a spinal cord injury themselves. The charity receives no government funding and, therefore, relies on the kind generosity of the general public, local firms and businesses to help it continue running.
A wide variety of items were auctioned including a signed GB t-shirt from Britain’s favourite Olympian Mo Farah, tickets to a premiership football match, a VIP goodie bag from The Saturday’s Girl Band as well as concert tickets to an exclusive concert at the 02 arena, a luxury facial and much more!!
It was a truly a night to remember and Hanne & Co would like to thank everyone who supported this terrific event!
Jenny Ricketts, Alice Mathams and Emel Djevdet will be taking part in the Run To the Beat half marathon on Sunday 28th October 2012 to raise money for The BackUp Trust.
