Total raised for CALM, 2018/2019

Hanne & Co Solicitors LLP are delighted to announce that they have raised £5,571.66 for CALM  (Campaign Against Living Miserably), the firm’s nominated charity for 2018/2019.

Sadly, suicide is the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. CALM hopes to change this by offering support (via a free and confidential helpline and webchat service), challenging male stereotypes and encouraging positive behavioural change.

The charity was chosen as Hanne & Co’s charity of the year following a vote by members of staff and the Charity Committee arranged a series of events during the year to raise funds. The firm’s employees got to take part in a world cup sweepstake, cake sale, charity quiz and bake off, whilst individual staff members undertook triathlons and long-distance bike rides in aid of the charity.

The amount raised was a record for the firm and Daniel Gray (Trainee Solicitor) who was chairman of the Charity Committee was grateful for the contributions made by staff members “the support has been unbelievable both internally at Hanne and externally. So many people have contributed to the great total we raised” Emily Robinson of CALM gratefully accepted the cheque that was presented to her by the Charity Committee and explained that the funds raised would be used to directly help those in need. “The amount you have raised could help answer thousands of calls and really change a huge number of people’s lives. Thank you.”
