Expertise
Rajinder’s focus is contentious probate matters such as challenging Wills and Trust disputes, although she continues to handle a mixed caseload of other civil and commercial disputes as she has done since qualifying in 1997.
Honest, empathetic and able to relate to all people and their circumstances, Rajinder has a “no nonsense” and candid approach. She is ever mindful of costs especially in proportion to the size of the claim and will go the extra mile to achieve her clients’ objectives – including making use of those individuals that she collaborates with where appropriate, and where she feels they could be of benefit to her client.
Rajinder has built up her contentious work through a mixed caseload of disputes – from probate and Wills, family related cohabitee disputes; contract/building disputes; neighbour/property disputes; landlord and tenant disputes, and repossessions.
Always up for a challenge, Rajinder has always carried out her own advocacy for clients up to trial, tenaciously fight her client’s corner and in order to maintain consistency for them. In 22 years she has lost only 3 cases and this is mostly due to her pragmatic approach in seeking to minimise client costs, whilst maximising client benefit. In this regard she has always actively encouraged clients to utilise alternative methods to resolve their disputes rather than the route of litigation. As an extension of her practising as a litigator, Rajinder is an accredited mediator in Civil and Commercial disputes, and those in the Workplace between employer and employee. She is a member of the Civil Mediation Council and voluntarily adopts the European Code of Ethics ensuring that her role as a litigator does not interfere or conflict with her role as an independent mediator. Rajinder is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.
Rajinder sits as an Executive Committee Member of the Civil Litigation Section of the Law Society (London), which spearheads Law Society initiatives aimed at keeping civil litigation practitioners up to date with changes in the law and procedure. This involves publishing information over various media and organising workshops, conferences and other events for practitioners in this ever changing field of law.
In her spare time, Rajinder enjoys going to the gym, pilates, listening to music, riding her bike, and cooking.
